When you decide to rent out your private home you have to decide what side to use. Most people know the most common sites such as Airbnb, Homeaway, and Flipkey. However, there are many other sites out there. Here are some of them:
- Vrbo – only for U.S. rentals
Each site has different target groups and some cater to a very specific audience. For instance, Onefinestay focuses on upscale apartments, while Kidandcoe focuses on families with children. If you take a look, it should be very easy to see what site could work for your listing, and which can’t.
Even though some sites focus on a very specific audience most don’t. Thus is should be possible for most hosts to rent out their home on multiple sites at the same time. Still, the majority only list their home on one or maybe two sites. This is, of course, fine but not very effective as you miss out on potential inquiries from guests browsing the other sites. To put it another way, you are not reaching all the people you could, which only hurt you and your potential profits.
List on as many sites as possible
Simple economic tells us, that the higher the demand for something is, the more you will be able to charge for it. If you list your home on as many sites as possible you will increase the number of people who view your home. If you can increase the number of people who view your home you should hopefully also experience an increase in the number of potential bookings you receive. At least that would be the goal of listing your home on multiple sites. If you manage to receive more inquiries for booking your home you can choose to charge a higher price for your rental, such as you, in the end, get the optimal price.
